So... Fubuki and Asuka have just been killed, and Ryou worries about Manjoume, who he never knew?

There is no such thing as consistent characterization or continuity in this damned series, is there? Argh, damn it all, HOW do otherwise intelligent people think that it's good?
I want a spite!fic (like fanfic but driven by dislike of the series) where Ryou goes after Juudai for vengeance. And kills him. I didn't hate Juudai up until now, but...
Shou wakes up, sees Hell Kaiser Ryou, and apparently the writers do remember the duel where Hell Kaiser Ryou almost killed Shou, they just don't feel like applying the psychological realism that this season is supposedly all about. Right.

Also, Yuugiou (the real Yuugiou, not this crappy dis-continuity sequel) had damn good psychology. Takahashi-sensei actually cared about exploring the characters' mindsets and how their experiences effected them. The Kaibas and the Ishtars being prime examples, since their traumas and dysfunctions are placed on large display, but even Jounouchi and Shizuka show the effects of their family situation in a subtle manner. Atemu genuinely behaves like a divine king who's been raised with the idea that his whole existence centers around that position, his friendships in AE had a great balance between friendship and awareness of his position, he and his father accepted full responsibility for the massacre... And that's just to list a few characters. There is psychological realism for you.
And people think that GX is deconstructing ideas from the original series? Um, no, it's not. It's stealing ideas from it and dressing them up in poorer clothes, without ever giving them one iota of the thought that Yuugiou did.
