shipping meme taken from a white rain.

Comment with any ship (romantic or platonic or maybe even non-existent!) from a fandom that you know I have some knowledge about, and I will rant about aforementioned ship. This may be incoherent gushing or exclamations of disgust, depending on your ship of choice.

MAIKO, even if you don't ship it.

AVATAR FANDOM/NICK

I do ship it, just not nearly as much as I do with Kataang, hence why I have icons of the latter and not the former. But in any event, Maiko is great because it brought us the term "Maikout" which is just the best thing ever. Also, Mai does not put up with Zuko's shit and calls him out on it, but she still loves him and will stand up to Azula for him. Which, you know, badass. So basically, Zuko is so goddamn lucky he has a hot ninja girlfriend.

Miki/Juri?

[identity profile] cypsiman2.livejournal.com 2011-05-25 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
While they don't interact nearly so often as I would have liked, when they did interact it was with more ease and with less drama then pretty much any other pair of characters in the entire show, and in something like Revolutionary Girl Utena where damn near every interaction is rife with subtext and hidden hostilities and defensiveness and projection and wearing masks and all that sort of stuff, the fact that all of that is pretty much absent from Miki and Juri was really notable and appealing to me.

I don't know you but I LOVE YOU

Can you rant about p-p-polar? :3

[identity profile] cypsiman2.livejournal.com 2011-05-25 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
With Polarshipping, I feel like I should be shipping it a lot harder than I actually do; I mean, hot older woman, belligerence, and the fact that at the end of the day they will make whatever sacrifices they have to for one another, without a second thought. That's like, solid gold for me. And yet, no real passion in me to explore the relationship and write fic about it. Strange.

Oh, and DOMA and its attendant character assassination and forced unnecessary love triangle bullshit did not happen.

Ha ha ha ha ha....:D

[identity profile] yllimilly.livejournal.com 2011-05-25 02:55 pm (UTC)(link)
You... used the word 'belligerence'. *worships*

Valon is for those who found Joey's childhood wasn't tragic enough xD

[identity profile] cypsiman2.livejournal.com 2011-05-25 04:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I can use whatever whatever big words you want me to. *suaves*

Right, because years of child abuse and being separated from your only beloved little sister isn't fucking tragic enough.

*drools*

Yeah, Jou had it _easy_. He can't really complain, IMHO.

Pretty boring pairing choice, but how about Pegasus x Cynthia/Cyndia/etc?

[identity profile] cypsiman2.livejournal.com 2011-05-26 04:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Hard to say too much about that pairing in canon, as we hardly ever see her and I don't recall her getting a single line of dialogue in the flashback we do get. Nonetheless, there have been a few fics of them that I've read that were pretty nice, so some people were able to dig down and find something to say about them.
