I'm trying hard to keep in mind that Fubuki is in the next episode. I need something to look forward to. Knowing that Juudai will never lose again really takes away all tension.
And Malik's mother's death was at least realistic given the circumstances. Difficulty with getting pregnant at all, probable complications with the birth, and no modern medicine... Urgh, now I feel sick from thinking about pregnancy so much, moving on. But yes, where is Edo's mother? It's part of this disturbing dearth of female characters, there really is a ridiculously low number of women occupying the world of GX.
I like Edo better than Juudai, but mainly I'm wishing I knew of a good version of Batman to read/watch instead.
And wow, this is ridiculously overdramatic. There are no stakes to this duel, why should everyone be so stricken by the outcome? It's one of the things which has always been so strange about GX, that they take loss so seriously even though they're at a school and dueling with no stakes. Everyone should lose once in a while, you'd think they'd be used to it.
Saiou's character design is really just very creepy. Why can't we have attractive villains like in Yuugiou? Oh, and interesting ones, that would be nice too.
Yay, Fubuki next episode!
You know, I'm suddenly thinking...why does Shou narrate the previews for the next episode? His voice is nowhere near as appealing and friendly as Anzu's was, he doesn't do a good job of advertising. I'd vote for Fubuki as far as good stage presence goes, but oh wait, the writers are trying to ignore him as much as possible.
