Manjoume meets up with Mizuchi, but no time to find out the significance of this, we've got Takuma in a limo. Oh hey, that's the Kaiba Corp towers. And those two guys from Battle City, who've not aged a day. Of course. And apparently Takuma Saiou has somehow managed to arrange a meeting with the man Seto Kaiba himself. Will this be a complete waste? Is everything on this show a complete waste? And yeah, Seto sounds really freaking bored. Seriously, he is so fucking bored here, the voice actor is clearly just wanting to grab up one last paycheck. Anyway, this conversation is really dull, Seto says that Saiou acts like a god who knows the future, Saiou says that he's just another subject of fate, albeit with a powerful gift, and he's here to ask if he can borrow Kaiba Land for the Duel Academia school trip. Kaiba, motivated by sheer boredom, lets him so that he can get out of this episode all the sooner. Saiou leaves, and Seto, already knowing that he's not going to show up for this show ever again, does not bother with having Saiou followed or watched. Because that's so in character for him, isn't it? Then Asuka calls up Saiou, and he says that Seto Kaiba is nothing to worry about. And yep, that's the end of Seto Kaiba's cameo on this show. That was certainly worth it, now wasn't it, he said through his teeth.

TITLE SCREEN! THE ULTIMATE COMBINATION! REX UNION huh, i'd almost completely forgotten about these fuckwits.

So Judai is running like an idiot, what else is new, and he comes upon old man Sugoroku. Sugoroku is disoriented, someone jumped him, and now Edo shows up. He cuts off the old man, and asks if he can feel something, for he can hazily make out the Emperor spirits that are keeping the card art, er, I mean Duel Spirits, from leaving Domino City. And apparently since his duel with Judai, he's been seeing strange things...it's been nearly ten episodes since the last time they dueled, and this is the first we're hearing of this. Great writing! And now he points out the tower where Shou and Kenzan are dueling Lightning Boy and Ice Boy. And so they go to the tower, and now we're back to the duel in progress, like anyone gives a fuck. Lightning Boy and Ice Boy continue to bicker and are really boring and uninspired, and now they're going to compete to see who can beat their opponent first. Oh, nice job breaking the fourth wall there. I was worried that this was taking itself too seriously, but that's been taken care of now, ensuring that I will not be investing even the least little bit of emotion into this duel. Not that I was to begin with. You know, because I hate Shou and Kenzan and I don't give a fuck about them. At all. Blah blah blah, Ice Boy and Lightning Boy thought that Kenzan, who was able to resist Saiou's power, and Shou, who's Hell Kaiser Ryou's younger brother, would have put up a better fight than this, and now it's Shou's turn.

He summons Gyroid in defense, and that's it for him. Kenzan and Shou bicker, and now it's Ice Boy's turn. He sets a card, switches Moebius to attack position, and blows up Dark Tyranno for 300 points of damage. Kenzann's turn, he plays Turnabout Treasure; when he has no other cards in his hand or on his field, he can draw one card for every card on his opponent's side of the field. Ice Boy has four, so Kenzan gets to draw four. He summons Element Saurus, more bickering with Shou, Ice Boy makes a big production about applying Moebius Palace's effect, and now he activates his trap card, Moebius Glacier, forcing Element Saurus into attack position and preventing it from changing battle position. Kenzan sets two cards, ends his turn, and now Lightning Boy goes on about how Shou's deck is the worst to go against his Thunder Deck. BECAUSE MACHINES SHORT CIRCUIT! GET IT!? Lightning Boy plays System Down, paying 1000 life points to remove all the Machine monsters on Shou's field and in his grave from play, so poof goes Gyroid and Truckroid, and now Shou has nothing to defend himself with. Zaborg attacks directly for 2400 points of damage, Kenzan is a prick, and Lightning Boy's not done yet; he plays the permanent spell card Overload Condenser, which makes it so long as Lightning Boy controls a Thunder-type monster (Zaborg), Shou will take 500 damage if he tries to attack with a Machine monster.

More bickering, Lightning Boy and Ice Boy declare that Shou and Kenzan are just bait to draw out Judai and Edo...so let me get this straight; you kidnap and dump Granpa Mutou to draw out Shou and Kenzan, you have Mizuchi erect a barrier all around Domino City so that 'Duel Spirits' can't leave, and Saiou's taking over Kaiba Land for the day...just to draw out Judai and Edo? Hey, here's an alternate plan; just walk up to Judai and Edo, tell Judai that he can have a fun duel if he follows you, and Edo can find out about his father's killer if he follows along too, AND YOU'RE DONE! WHY IN THE FUCK IS THIS PLAN SO FUCKING CIRCUITOUS?! But hey, at least it's getting Shou and Kenzan to stop bickering like a couple of three year olds, so I can't complain as much as I'd like. Of course, having to deal with all their bullshit up to this point, is still total bullshit.

EYECATCH!

Shou's turn, he summons Stealthroid with 1200 attack points, and then plays the Field Spell card Training Field. Do remember that neither Shou, nor Kenzan, had any expectation of being in a tag duel today. Shou declares his attack, Overload Condenser does 500 points of damage, but Shou's target isn't Zaborg...it is Element Saurus! Shou reveals that Training Field allows you to attack your fellow monsters, and neither monster will be destroyed. Stealthroid attacks, Kenzan takes 200 damage, blah blah blah, and now Stealthroid's effect activates, allowing it to destroy a spell or trap card on the field after battle, so boom goes Moebius Glacier, and now Training Field's other effect activates, raising Stealthroid's attack power by 300. And now Kenzan activates his trap card, Counterattack; during the opponent's battle phase, after the opponent attacks, he can attack the opponent in turn, so now Element Saurus goes after Stealthroid, and now Kenzan is down to 100 life points. But now Stealthroid can activate its effect once more, this time destroying Overload Condenser. And now Element Saurus gains 300 attack points, blah blah blah...and apparently Shou and Kenzan were using the reflective surfaces of the Reflector Bits to look at each others hands. Which, you know, bullshit. And now Shou sets two cards to end his turn.

Ice Boy's turn, he attacks, and Shou activates his trap card, Dark Computer Virus, sacrificing his Dark Machine Stealthroid to change the target of a permanent spell card; the card in question is Side Attack, and he changes it so that he'll be the new target of Ice Boys attacks, which also frees Element Saurus from the effect of Moebius Palace, and now Kenzan activates his trap card, Jurassic Impact, the one he was going to use to force a draw against Shou in their duel. Element Saurus goes boom, Kenzan does that freaking stupidly idiotically moronic thing with his eyes, and now Jurassic Impact will destroy all the monsters on the field and inflict 1000 points of damage on everyone. Ice Boy and Lightning Boy lose their monsters and take 2000 damage each, and then Shou and Kenzan recover 1200 life points. Why? Well, just before Jurassic Impact went off, Shou activated Ring of Vitality, destroying Element Saurus to recover life points equal to its defense value. Thus, it was not destroyed by Jurassic Impact and thus neither Shou nor Kenzan took any damage. Oh, and now the whole field is covered in lava, signifying that no one will be able to summon monsters for one full turn.

Kenzan takes his turn, passes, Lightning Boy sets three cards, Shou takes his turn, passes, and Ice Boy, and he gets a special mirror card. He sets it to end his turn. Now the field's back to normal, Kenzan's turn, and he plays Ultra Evolution Pill; by removing Dyna Base in his hand and Dark Tyranno in his grave from play, he gets to special summon a Light Dinosaur monster from his deck, and he goes for Super Conductor Tyranno, with 3300 attack points. Also, it looks really stupid. Kenzan attacks Lightning Boy, but he activates Card of Lightning Protection; the attack is negated, all other players get to draw a card, and then everyone takes 400 damage for every card in their hand. Everyone but Lightning Boy takes damage and gets to draw a card, and now Lightning Boy takes his turn. He also draws the Mirror card, which, yes, he got from Mizuchi. Because, you know, THAT'S THE SHIT THAT NEEDS TO BE EXPLAINED!!! He decides he doesn't want to pay the life points to activate it, so instead he plays Monster Reincarnation, discarding it to get back Thunder Knight, which he summons in defense position. Shou's turn, he knows that Ice Boy has no monsters on his field, so he'll end it now.

First he plays Burial from a Different Dimension, returning Truckroid and Gyroid back to his grave, and then he summons Expressroid, activating its effect to return Stealthroid and Truckroid back to his hand. And now he plays Vehicroid Connection Zone, fusing together Expressroid, Stealthroid, Truckroid, and Drillroid into Super Vehicroid Stealth Union, with 3600 attack points, but that's not all! Now he'll activate his monster's effect, and use Kenzan's monster as an equip card, making it into the titular Super Vehicroid Rex Union. Now it can reduce its attack power by half, and attack both opponents. Ice Boy's gonna go bye bye, Lightning Boy won't be far behind, Kenzan does that insipid eye thing again, but lo, Ice Boy activates the special trap card given to him by Mizuchi, Mirror of Duality; Lightning Boy is shocked, I deserve to be hit for that pun, and Ice Boy explains that when the opponent attacks, he can pay 1000 life points to destroy all monsters on the field and their players take 500 damage for every monster so destroyed. And...apparently Mizuchi had a piece of her soul riding Ice Boy for...some reason...or something...point is, Ice Boy is now the last duelist standing, everyone else having dropped to zero life points.

And, now the giant Emperor spirits disappear and the sky clears up, making that plot point, without point. And now Ice Boy introduces himself to Judai and Edo, Edo recognizes Mizuchi as Takuma's younger sister, and now it is snowing for no particular reason. What the fuck ever, I don't give a shit. And then Ice Boy teleports out, making that entire conversation, completely pointless. Much like this entire trip into Domino City. Oh, and now Judai knows that Shou and Kenzan have been kidnapped. Cue next episode, in which Judai, being the great friend that he is, sits on his ass and does nothing to look for them. End episode.

NEXT TIME! HOLY SHIT, FUBUKI'S IN THIS EPISODE! WHERE THE FUCK WAS HE FOR THE LAST TWO? I'D HAVE MUCH RATHER WATCHED HIM, THEN HAVE TO DEAL WITH SHOU AND KENZAN'S BORING ASS HELL SHIT. But of course, now we get Judai dueling one of the four monarchs, like I give a fuck. EPISODE TITLE, THE FOUR MONARCHS OF TERROR! DEMIURGE - EMA card of the week is Zaborg the Thunder Monarch. Woo.

Well, being that the next batch of episodes have yet to be subbed, I'll probably take a break from this shit-fest of a series, and instead watch Princess Tutu for a while. Let's see how that goes, shall we?
