cypsiman2This show...it amazes me sometimes. I mean, in the space of one episode, my entire conception of Wakaba as a character has been completely turned on its head, and yet nothing about this new characterization contradicts anything we've seen of her in the past, it just presents it all in a new light. And this time, the duel did not fall into its regular pattern, and of course not! Wakaba is Utena's oldest and dearest friend, she could not draw the sword out of Anthy to fight her. And I love that the song that plays for the duel is about Pyrrhus, since in the end that's the only kind of victory that Wakaba could ever find in that duel, isn't it?
And goddamn, that Souji Mikage prick is going to have to pay at some point for toying with everyone like this...though, I'd probably be better off hoping that Wakaba will get over Saioniji once and for all and find a healthier way to find her happiness.
