Oh hey, it's another bloody recap.

TITLE SCREEN! JUDAI VS. MANJOUME - DARK SWORD THE DRAGON KNIGHT is that anything bright spear the dragoon?

We hear roaring, Demon Martin says that's the Legendary Demons calling out to him, and then he leaps down into the crevice, which is weird, since last time the damn cards came right to the surface. CONTINUITY??? In any event, there's now this great big involved labyrinth that looks like something out of a videogame, and then Daitokuji comes out again. Not to do anything useful that would justify him still being around, just him stating the obvious that it would be bad if Demon Martin got his hands on the Legendary Demon cards. Suddenly, Duel Zombies approach, and Judai tells Rei to get Napoleon out of here and back to the others, promising the fat little troll that he'll bring his son back by force if he has to. Oh, for the love of...look, if a fat tabby cat is all it takes to drive a path through the Duel Zombies, they're not a threat! Judai's running down the labyrinth, Demon Martin's got a big head-start on him, and Zombie Manjoume emerges from a crevice...wait, how the hell did he get down there? Demon Martin only just opened the entrance, and if there was another one already available, why didn't Demon Martin take that instead? PLOT HOLE! Judai runs into Zombie Manjoume, and so now he has to duel him to get past him...for some reason, he doesn't just shove his way past him. In Judai's case, that's because he's an idiot of the highest order. Manjoume goes first, and summons Return Zombie with 1000 attack points. Then he plays Quick Attack, allowing him to attack even tough this is the first turn. Judai is smacked around for 1000 points of damage, and apparently Judai didn't have his duel disc armed at that time, which would imply that you can't refuse the duel against the Duel Zombies. If they'd established that earlier, that would have helped, but the whole concept is still doomed to utter narm. Judai summons Sparkman, attacks and destroys Return Zombie for 600 points of damage, Judai tries to run past Manjoume, but Manjoume summons Blood Vorse and destroys Sparkman for 300 points of damage. And now Blood Vorse is strangling Judai! This is the best episode ever!

Oh, and Amon also used the same Plot Hole crevice that Manjoume used, exposits on the Legendary Demon cards, and goes after Demon Martin. But now over to Duel Academia, where the students are whining and no one knows what's going on. Rei and Napoleon arrive, fills them in, and lots of blah blah blah as two and two finally get put together. Again, I'm not at all clear on why Demon Martin would have needed a distraction, since he had the whole damn school under his control and never demonstrated any difficulty moving around without being seen even before then. Also, a bunch of students try to rush against impossible odds to obtain food for everyone, and are of course turned into Zombies. Stupid Extras, not knowing their place, not understanding that only sparkly people like Judai and Johan can ever accomplish anything. And everyone else just stands there, not even trying to help them. Worthless bastards, the lot of them. And over at the power station, O'Brien is about to order everyone back to the school when one of the grunts points out electricity running between the two towers, and then the image of the Einstein rip-off appears, trying to contact them.

EYECATCH!

Back to Plot Hole Tunnels, where Demon Martin is still running along, Amon follows, and Manjoume is joyous over Blood Vorse strangling Judai, as well he should be. Judai takes his turn, plays Fusion, and summons Flame Wingman, what a shocker. Flame Wingman attacks and destroys Blood Vorse, sparing Judai from his well-deserved death, and when it applies its effect, Judai implores it to take it easy on Manjoume, and Manjoume's coat is now on fire, so he runs around and puts it out. Not that this matters, Manjoume takes his turn and activates his own Fusion card, fusing Dark Blade and Pitch-Black Dragon into Dark Blade the Dragon Knight with 2200 attack points. Then, he equips it with Fusion Buster, which has the following effect; raise the equipped monster's attack power by 300, once per turn he can perform a De-Fusion on an opponent's Fusion monster, and if the opponent tries to activate Fusion, Fusion Buster can be sent to the grave to negate and destroy it. So, Flame Wingman is De-Fused into Featherman and Burst Lady, Featherman is then destroyed for 1500 points of damage, oh noes, how will Judai ever get out of this one? But, for now we head back to the Power Station as Einstein is trying to talk, and Misawa arrives out of nowhere. No, wait, everyone's there, nevermind. Hah hah, Misawa used to think Einstein was God, it is to laugh. Misawa says they need to increase the output, messes with some equipment, everyone but Asuka and Rei get to help out, and thanks to Misawa, the ungrateful bastards can hear Einstein clearly. Blah blah blah, and it turns out that Edo is with Einstein too. Mind you, there's a whole huge team there as well, but since they don't sparkle, they don't matter. Anyway, Misawa reports that the situation is grim, they need to get back to Earth ASAP, and by the by how are you sending this message anyway?

According to Einstein, there is a hole between dimensions, technobabble about gravitons, and the key to rescuing everyone is Rainbow Dragon! Wow, that doesn't sound like something straight out of a Mary-Sue fanfic at all! Seriously, on what basis do these people believe that Rainbow Dragon will do anything useful? Johan is in shock, how can they use Rainbow Dragon when they still haven't found it's Lithograph? But, Einstein says it's just been found, and Pegasus himself is heading to the excavation site to make it into a card as soon as possible. Then they'll send it through the rift, and when it gets summoned on that side, it'll create a bridge between the two dimensions, allowing everyone to come back home! Einstein knows this is true, because he took his entire grant, and used it to buy the best damn weed he could! Also, they've somehow come to the conclusion that this has an exactly 30.75% chance of succeeding. I've no idea how you would run simulations and perform statistical analysis on that sort of thing. Oh, but in order to do all this, they'll need hundreds of billions of joules of energy...which if the writers had any sense of scale, they'd know that that's not nearly as impressive as it sounds; it's roughly the equivalent of describing a million millimeters as being a great distance. But, to provide this (not) staggering sum of energy, Einstein has set-up the sub-space duel system, so all they need to do is get over to the Tennis Court, and duel across dimensions! ...Why the tennis court? Why not right there, where the transmission is being made in the first place? Oh, right, because we need more running around. Blah blah blah, where is Judai, he'll be fine, let's move on.

Judai's in a pinch, how can he win if he can't play Fusion, he needs to hurry and stop the bad pastel chalk drawing of Demon Martin from taking the Legendary Demon cards, and Judai's latest draw is yet another super-situational number. But first, he plays Fake Hero to summon Neos from his hand, and then he plays Cross Change, returning Burst Lady to his deck to summon Groun Mole from his deck. Contact Fusion into Groun Neos, which doesn't require a fusion card, and he uses its effect to get rid of Manjoume's monster. Direct attack, Judai wins again. Judai's Dis-Belt kicks in, he has Groun Neos grab Manjoume so he doesn't fall to his death, and Judai runs along. Over at the school, O'Brien orders his grunts to protect Johan "Mary Sue" Anderson at all costs, and back in the tunnels, Demon Martin arrives at the chamber containing the Legendary Demon cards. But Amon is right behind, and boy does he look happy. End episode.

NEXT TIME! Zombie Shou gives Judai a big hug, the Rainbow Dragon lithograph is conveniently found and unearthed, and Amon duels Demon Martin. EPISODE TITLE, THE ONE WHO RELEASES THE SEAL, MARTIN! card of the week is dark blade the dragon knight

Despite efforts finally being made to convey the notion that the Duel Zombies are a legitimate threat, this episode is still too full of plot holes and contrivances for me to care.
