"Ms. Arisugawa, I believe you are trying to seduce me." Miki Kaoru said in an effort to try and defuse the tension of the situation; it was plainly clear that Juri had indulged in some alcohol at the behest of one of her mother's guests and was not being herself.
"As though you'd mind, Mr. Kaoru." Juri spoke with a laugh and a blush on her face, definite symptoms of uncharacteristic intoxication. "I've seen the way you look at me." She brought her arm around his shoulders and pulled him in closer. Now he was blushing.
"Juri." Now was not the time for the polite distance one used at a high-class party such as this. "Please, you really shouldn't, haven't we both made enough relationship mistakes already?"
"That's how I know this isn't one." Juri spoke with such seriousness, it almost caused Miki's heart to stop. "I've been thinking about this for a long time, and now that I've taken a little 'liquid courage', I know this is the right thing to do." Now she framed his face in her hand. "Out of everyone you've ever known, I'm the only one who's never hurt you, and I don't ever plan on changing that."
"And I..." Miki felt himself being swayed, both by Juri's forceful presence, and by the peculiarities of his own heart. "I would never hurt you either." They kissed.
