“This is all your fault Yugo.” Princess Amalia Sharn Sheram muttered from within Ruel Stroud’s Haversack. “Why didn’t you offer to use your portals to help me sneak past everyone like you could have?” She could still feel the impression of the Eliatrope boy’s arms wrapped tight around her waist, tears welling up in his eyes. Sure, she knew that he was going to miss being able to see her for a few days, assuming everything went as planned, but by Sadida she didn’t think he’d miss her that much! She remembered having to bite her lip to keep some semblance of composure, so infectious were his emotions, and in the end she still had to run, tears streaming from her eyes. Really, she wasn’t surprised that Sadlygrove and Ruel didn’t offer to help, but Yugo was usually different, usually smarter then that.
Later, after Amalia chewed the boys out and praised Evangelyne, Yugo checked to make sure no one was looking, and kicked himself, a rather different feat from usual given his portal powers. He idly wondered if this was what it felt like to be Sadlygrove, but decided no, he had been even stupider than that. And the worst part was, he wasn’t even sure why he was being so stupid about Amalia.
