I see. One set of subs I found said the Manager "was mistaken for a girl" when the character was younger but they're TVN subs and they might be wrong, so I'll be mindful while addressing the character whenever zie is brought up.
On another subject, I found it interesting that it was Rinko who gave her the pep talk to mind not where the powers came from but that she used them properly most of the time. That would be a speech Haruto would give normally.
