Miki was alone with Shiori. He'd been silent for quite some time. What he was about to say, about to do, it was going to change everything. "Shiori." He spoke her name without using any honorific. He'd never done that before. If all went according to plan, he'd be doing so again in the future. "We've been together for one year, seven months, and fourteen days. Perhaps I am being hasty but I honestly feel that we've been together long enough to make this decision." Miki got down on one knee. "Shiori, will you marry me?" Miki presented her with a diamond ring.
She broke down in tears! "I'm sorry, I spoke too soon, I was imagining things, please forgive me Miss Shiori..."
"No, you misunderstood Miki." Shiori looked up with a big, tear-stained smile on her face. "I do want to marry you, and I want you to call me just Shiori."
