Where I watch Episode 13 of Simoun

So, after the debacle last episode with Kaimu and Alti, Dominura reveals to everyone that, yes, it does matter how you feel about your pair. This begins to prompt various to kiss each other outside of the context of offering up prayers to Tempus Spatium, including an absolutely adorable little scene with Limone giving Dominura a kiss on the cheek after the latter's had it up to HERE with the bullshit the brass have been giving her.
But, the main focus of the episode is once more on Neviril and Aeru; specifically, Aeru finds out about the awesomeness of the Emerald Ri Maarjon, the ultimate Ri Maarjon, and so she goes into the lunchroom and asks Neviril to perform the Emerald Ri Maarjon with her. You know, the same Emerald Ri Maarjon that killed Amuria back in the first episode and got Neviril to pretty much lock herself away for about 8 episodes? Yeah, that Ri Maarjon. As you might expect, being reminded about the death of her lover does no favors for Neviril's mental state. So yeah, we get a lot of angst in this episode, which is just as well as there's not really much else happening...
Until the very end of the episode, when Dominura orders Aeru and Neviril to pair up and deal with the giant floating air base they found last episode. Lots of objections from Paraieta and Neviril, but Aeru and Dominura are pushy, and shockingly enough, the Simoun Gem accepts they "prayer" offered up by Aeru and Neviril, which suggests that ones conscious feelings are not what counts, but the subconscious feelings in the depths of the heart. Neviril is particularly confused by all this, as she believes that she's afraid of Neviril.
This episode brought in a lot of well-done character moments, so I liked it.

Date: 2010-06-11 08:16 am (UTC)"Mommynura". ...I like that, though I'm pretty sure the rest of Choir Tempest think of Dominura as the overbearing mother who thinks she knows better and doesn't have to explain to you why she's making all these decisions for you. But Limone is adorable with her, so that helps to balance that out, right?
