cypsiman2: I still believe in my dreams (Miki Juri)

Once again, Revolutionary Girl Utena demonstrates how to do a proper clip show episode, which is to choose all the craziest and crackiest bits from the series...and then make them crackier!

Of course Tsuwabuki followed Nanami everywhere she went, of course those three guys got their personalities swapped with elephants, and of course Tsuwabuki keeps a long list of strategies for getting Nanami to see him as a man equal to how she sees her brother Touga. And of course, while hospitalized, his pants were taken from him, so he can't stop them from reading his journal. And of course, he eventually uses his sheets as a toga (touga?), which inevitably falls down, scandalizing Nanami...right out the window!

At least, I think she did, the whole thing may have just been a fever dream on Nanami's part after Tsuwabuki rescued her from that runaway horse. But then again, we do know that at least 24 strategies, so maybe it all did happen. Hard to say, but I have not laughed so hard in quite a while, so I don't really care.

That all said, I am suffering Miki/Juri deprivation. Show, rectify this immediately!

Ahh, the crack in Utena is always a joy to behold.

I'm a bit fuzzy on when next there are Juri centric episodes (I watched through in a mad rush to see everything that happened, all right?), but I can say that hte movie has some nice Juri/Miki moments.

You have to admit, there was no moment in which poor itty-bitty Tsuwabuki wished more that he were a MAN, than when his toga fell off. XDDD

As though I needed more encouragement to see the movie, he said with a grin.

Try pulling a sword out of Nanami's chest more often? *is shot*

Say, have you had a chance to look at the link I posted last night?

You're lucky I'm too polite to shoot back ;P

Yup! My main thought is that Aki looks badass, and I'm very annoyed at the thought that 5Ds ruins it. Oh, and that 5Ds looks rather silly. Silly pretending to be cyberpunk. I could be wrong, though ^^; Maybe one day I'll actually watch it and find out. Oh, and Aki has good taste in cards- that Black Rose Dragon is awesome.

You have no idea how lucky I am, to have a friend like you. ;)

In all honesty, while I was never really sold on the whole "CARD GAMES ON MOTORCYCLES" angle, the show did do a very good setting up and establishing the new dystopia of Neo-Domino City. Which is why, by the end of the second major story arc, this aspect of the series is completely dropped in favor of random gratuitous, meaningless symbolism. Also, Aki gets sent off to school with the children while the boys get to go and do important things. *Is so goddamn bitter* I believe I've mentioned it before, if you're going to watch it, stop at episode 26, make up your own version for what happens after that; it will result in a lot less stress, that's for damn sure.

Watch episode 16, at the least, if what you want to see is Aki being awesome, and Black Rose Dragon decimating everything.

I feel the same way, despite the shooting ;)

...Symbolism is nice, but it does have to mean something. Or, a la Utena, your meaningless symbolism should still be pretty and not taken too seriously- like Nanami asking Miki what the meaning of his stopwatch is and never receiving an answer ;) And I'll keep that in mind!

Ooh, sounds good!

It's a shame that it went from Yuugiou, where the female characters typically were equal to the males, even if they were less in frequency and number, to things like the GX anime, where there was only one...

Or, if it doesn't mean anything, at least have it be relevant to the story at hand, and not be thrown in because this week was the week that you had a boner for Norse Mythology! *Seriously, Norse god cards, for no particular reason, creating huge plot holes along the way. Business as usual in the present of 5Ds*.

Also good are episodes 21 and 22.

And then there's 5Ds, where every time you think there's going to be a badass awesome lady, she gets screwed over big time.

I've been looking forward to you posting on this episode because it is brilliant and cracktastic!

I was laughing and muttering wtf under my breath in equal measure during this ep.

Me, I was just laughing all the way through, because after the last episode, my brain's standards for WTF have been raised considerably.

Curry, Curry, Curry!
