cypsiman2: I still believe in my dreams (Your writing is bad)

Ayukawa is trapped in the infirmary, Rei is still dying, and the zombies continue to be no worse than mildly irritating. The possibility of any sort of emotional investment into this crisis is on par with me laughing at this pathetic excuse for a parody.

TITLE SCREEN! THE REI RESCUE OPERATION! E-HEROES VS. THE FALLEN ANGEL NURSE i feel dirty just reading that title.

Blah blah blah, Judai wants to go off on his own, Johan won't let him, and then Jim treats Asuka and Kenzan like they're his busboys. Kenzan, I can understand since that's all he's good for, but Asuka? Jim, you are on my shit list. More blah blah blah, and over to Ayuakwa, who's shoved an empty bed against the door, which still confuses since these doors do not open that way! And...apparently one of them climbed up into the ceiling and drops down on a panel...how would he have even gotten up there to begin with, much less know how to do so? And so now one of the mildly annoying zombies is in the infirmary, the horror. Elsewhere in the hallways, Winged Kuriboh flies out to lure away a bunch of zombies, Judai and the new guys go into a classroom, O'Brien pries up a floor panel, and how would he have even known that was there, much less that they could use it in this fashion? Really, when would he have had cause to look up the schematics of Duel Academia? The only time he would have done so would have been after the zombie uprising, and we never saw him do so, he just magically knows all the shortcuts. Blah blah blah, they make it through the basement ventilation, but oh noes, there is a Duel Zombie approaching. Amon offers to stay behind to stop them, and it really strikes me how even Amon, the smart one, doesn't just roll his eyes and shove his way past the zombies. Judai and the others run along, and Amon's internal monologue can't believe that he's wasting his time like this. Back out in the halls, we see Zombie Manjoume and Zombie Shou, blah blah blah, and Jim runs interference, as opposed to pointing out that the zombies never move faster than a slow shamble and thus all you need to do is briskly walk ahead of them. And over in the Library, Demon Martin wants even more friends. Woo.

Over in the infirmary, Ayukawa has defeated the Duel Zombie off screen, and notices that there is a dark energy about his deck...which is kind of weird, shouldn't that only be visible to sparkly sparklepires like Judai and Johan? In any event, she takes the deck out, which if you think about it is like shooting the head off a regular zombie. Seriously, just defeat them once, and then take their deck before they can get back up, and what little threat value they possess is nullified. Then she puts one of the cards in her computer, because apparently you can detect the power of Darkness with Windows XP. And that has to be the most awkward and uncomfortable sitting posture ever. Also, two more zombies have jumped down through the ceiling to be mildly irritating, and so does the first zombie, who doesn't even seem to notice that he no longer has a deck. And now something occurs to me; Ayukawa doesn't have a Dis-Belt on, so she doesn't have to worry about her stamina getting sucked out. Somehow, that won't make the least bit of difference in all this. And now Judai and Johan come upon the moron zombies clawing at the door to the infirmary, and O'Brien uses one of his cable-things to go up into the ceiling. How does he know the layout of the school so well again? Oh, right, MAGIC! And then O'Brien drops down to distract the Duel Zombies in front of the infirmary. Whatever. Johan spots the open panel over the infirmary, and Judai and Johan drop in. No zombies around, Ayukawa is sitting on Rei's bed, and shock of shocks, Ayukawa is a zombie. Also, a whole bunch of Duel Zombies appear literally out of nowhere, they were not present in the earlier shots and there was nowhere for them to have been hiding. Blah blah blah, Judai has to duel Ayukawa to get the medicine to Rei, so they duel.

EYECATCH!

Amon has defeated his opponent, and doubts that Judai could have reached the infirmary. Jim is running, and runs into a bunch of zombies, and somehow he does not think to just sic the pet crocodile he's been carrying on his back the whole time on them! Seriously, he has to be insanely strong to carry a full grown crocodile on his back without any sign of discomfort, and yet somehow he is railroaded into dueling them. What a load. Over to the Judai vs. Ayukawa duel, Ayuakawa goes first and summons Fallen Angel Reficule. The laziness...it hurts. For some reason the summon of a 1400 attack power monster kicks up a windstorm, and Judai worries about dueling in a confined space like this with Rei unable to move. Ayukawa sets two cards, and ends her turn. And now that it's Judai's turn, it's time for his predictable opening move, Fusion to send Burst Lady and Featherman from his hand to the grave to fusion summon Flame Wingman. Again, more wind, where the hell is all this wind coming from? Last time Judai summoned Flame Wingman in a confined space, which was last episode, this did not happen. Consistency, what's that? And really? Cracks are being torn in the walls, just from summoning monsters? I call bullshit on this, I really do. Johan runs past Ayukawa, who throws a very slow punch, to use his body as a shield to keep Rei from getting hit by falling rubble. Oh, so that's why that's happening, so that Johan gets to be a big damn hero alongside Judai. Of course. But before Judai can attack, Ayuakawa activates her permanent trap card Dark Cure; whenever Judai summons a monster, his life points will increase by half that monster's attack points. However, this triggers Reficule's effect, changing any life restoring effect to a damage effect. Thus, Judai takes 1050 points of damage, and Johan's just running around in the background with Rei in his arms. This then lets Ayukawa activate her other Permanent Trap card, Sadistic Potion. Once per turn when she does effect damage to the opponent, her monster will gain 1000 attack points until the end phase, which makes Reficule stronger than Flame Wingman. Judai sets three cards, and ends his turn.

Ayukawa's turn, she draws Magical Stone Excavation, and then she plays Bonfire, letting her add a level-4 or lower fire monster from he deck to her hand. She chooses Burning Algae. Next, she plays Magical Stone Excavation, discarding both Burning Algaes from her hand to get back Bonfire, and triggering the effects of her monster to restore Judai's life points by 2000, which is then reversed by Reficule's effect to deal 2000 damage, which raises her attack by 1000 points with Sadistic Potion's effect. Judai thinks about how if they didn't have to save Rei's life this duel would be loads of fun, and then Ayukawa plays Bonfire again, adding a third Burning Algae to her hand. She summons it, which spreads fire all over the place. Sure, why not. Got to give more pointless heroics for Johan to do. Ayukawa has Burning Algae attack Flame Wingman, so that it can be sent to the grave and use its effect to finish Judai off, but Judai activates Hero Barrier to negate the attack. But, Ayukawa still has Reficule, so she attacks and destroys Flame Wingman for 300 points of damage, and then Judai activates Hero Signal. Even Johan can't see how this will help, since Judai has only 650 life points left, and Ayukawa's combo will finish him off if he summons a monster with at least 1300 attack points. Judai settles on Wildman, which has 1500 attack points and does yet more damage to the room. And then Judai proclaims that Wildman can't be affected by Dark Cure, so he won't take damage.

BULL.

FUCKING.

SHIT.

THAT IS NOT HOW WILDMAN'S EFFECT FUCKING WORKS, AND IT HAS BEEN AROUND SINCE SEASON ONE, SO THERE'S NO EXCUSE FOR THIS CHICANERY! WILDMAN IS UNAFFECTED BY TRAP CARDS, THAT IS TRUE, BUT DARK CURE DOES NOT HAVE ANY EFFECT ON THE MONSTER THAT IS SUMMONED! IT AFFECTS THE PLAYER, AND USES THE MONSTER SUMMONED AS A REFERENCE POINT. YOU WOULD NEED SOMETHING LIKE JINZO, WHICH NEGATES ALL TRAPS ON THE FIELD, FOR THAT TRICK TO WORK, AND WILDMAN DOES NOT HAVE THAT EFFECT. THAT THE WRITERS COULD GET AWAY WITH SUCH A BLATANT CONTORTION OF THE RULES, JUST TO MAKE IT SO THAT JUDAI WINS, IS HORSE-SHIT!

So yeah, everyone goes on about what a brilliant display of cheating skill that was, and Judai takes his turn. He plays Graceful Charity, drawing three and discarding two, has Wildman attack and destroy Reficule for 100 points of damage, then he activates Cry of the Living Dead, special summoning the Edgeman he just discarded, which lets him gain 1300 life points with Dark Cure's effect. Fuck. You. Judai. It attacks Burning Algae, dealing 2100 points of damage to Ayukawa, and now Judai plays Instant Fusion, combining Wildman and Edgeman into Wild Jaggyman, which lets Judai gain another 1300 life points. Which means he now has 4250 life points, more than he started with. And now he attacks Ayukawa directly for the win. I said it before, but I'm so pissed, I'm going to say it again.

BULL.

FUCKING.

SHIT.

Big explosions blow out the door with a cheap cartoon sound effect, and Judai, Johan, and Rei are sent flying as the infirmary collapses in on itself, killing Ayukawa and the other zombies in the process. And then the Dis-Belt drains Judai's strength. And already Judai is over having just committed manslaughter, and asks if Rei is okay. Johan says she is, and never mind what I said before, Ayukawa and the other zombies are just fine. Hey, nothing's made any sense up to this point, why should it start now? Johan then summons Topaz Tiger and places the comatose Rei onto its back, somehow convinced that Rei won't just bounce off and be badly injured. He's right, but there was absolutely no reason for him to think he would be. So yeah, they make it to the gym, where only a handful of students are left, and apparently they somehow knew how to properly apply the medicine to treat Rei's magic glowing demon wound, and her condition is improving. Blah blah blah, Amon wonders what the Demon is doing with this inane Zombie plan of its, night falls, and Winged Kuriboh is worried. End Episode.

NEXT TIME! More bad zombie survival horror parody pastiche bullshit, and Demon Martin does something weird to three students. EPISODE TITLE, DISRUPTION IN THE ACADEMY! GROWLING DUEL card of the week is Reficule

Christ, that episode was fucking infuriating. A lot of stupid shit since everyone was transported into the alternate has gone on, but this is just stupid on an entirely new level.
