He is the main character. HE KIND OF IS THE PLOT???

Yes, absolutely; granted, it's more on the level of wishing I were more like him than actually being him, but my empathy for him is very strong in any event.
4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?
Undying hate for the fandom, for fandom hates Aang or just generally fails to recognize how great he is.
5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by his/her relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic)
KATARA IS HIS FOREVER GIRL, YO! I also like his interactions with Sokka and Zuko.
6) Is there anything about the character you would change?
AANG, NO KISSING WHEN KATARA TELLS YOU SHE'S CONFUSED!
7) If you were in the fandom with this character or knew this character in real life, how would you see yourself interacting with him/her?
I see myself as the exhausted and beleaguered big-brother figure who gets winded trying to keep up with him. GET IT, WINDED?

Only in a bizarro universe where the show sucks but the fandom is sane.

Date: 2011-03-29 10:58 pm (UTC)I think Luffy is great, because for a long time he seems like he's just this kooky guy who can stretch his limbs and doesn't have a care in the world, and then your entire perception of him gets turned completely upside-down and you realize how much more sense he makes now.
2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
Extremely.
3) Can you relate to this character at all? Does he/she grip you emotionally?
It's difficult to relate to someone so optimistic and blunt as Luffy, but he does have a deathgrip on my heartstrings, like just about everyone else in One Piece.
4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?
Fandom's pretty cool, but I haven't been all that involved with it.
5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by his/her relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic)
While the mental image of him being in any sort of pairing is pretty hilarious, I can't ship him with anyone. That said, his interactions with Nami are among my favorite.
6) Is there anything about the character you would change?
Nothing.

I would be driven insane.

Date: 2011-03-30 03:03 am (UTC)Mai Kujaku is pretty great, take charge and in total possession of her own identity and how she presents herself to the world.
2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
Mostly to smoothly facilitate various plot developments. Doesn't mean she doesn't get at least a little focus and consideration for her character though.
3) Can you relate to this character at all? Does he/she grip you emotionally?
Unfortunately, I'm pretty removed from where she's coming from, so I end up relating to her from the outside. That said, she's a character I care for quite a bit, so my emotions can get gripped by her if the occasion demands it.
4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?
The Yugioh fandom has a tiny minority of smart people, and a vast majority of raging dumbasses, many of whom wouldn't know proper characterization if it bit them on the collective ass.
5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by his/her relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic)
Nah, I don't really ship her; sure, Mai/Jounouchi, Mai/Anzu, Mai/Shizuka, and Mai/Vivan Wong, they're all fun but I just don't feel passionate about any of them. But, every time she interacts with one of the other ladies, mostly Anzu or Shizuka, my heart glows.
6) Is there anything about the character you would change?
ONSCREEN VICTORIES! ALSO, FUCK DOMA!
7) If you were in the fandom with this character or knew this character in real life, how would you see yourself interacting with him/her?
I would be putty in her hands.
8) Does this character make the cut as one of your all time favorites (if you like) or least favorites?
A favorite, but not an especially high-ranking one.
9) Would you hype up this character (if you like) or warn about this character (if you dislike) to someone new to fandom?
No, she's just not central enough to the story to make hyping her especially worthwhile.
10) Is this character popular with the fanbase?
I believe she's the most popular female character, which is next to nothing compared to the popularity of the male characters.

Yes, I can relate to him a great deal, what with also being a gamer who has difficulty talking to people, and my heart, he has a grip on it indeed.

As in the above entry regarding Mai, the majority of the fandom is made of raging dumbasses.

Yuugi/Anzu OTP FOREVA! And, while he bounces off everyone fairly well, his interactions with Anzu, Atem, and Jounouchi are the best.

AN INFUSION OF LIQUID COURAGE SO THAT HE COULD MAKE HIS MOVE ON THE AWESOME DANCER GIRL!

Playing children's card games together, mostly.

I'd say yeah; he certainly gets some important scenes to himself, that's for sure.

Relate to him, not especially, we're almost polar opposites. But still, I'm a very empathic person so he manages to grip my emotions just fine.

Fandom is small, but with plenty of fun people.

Well, I think you'd be strung up if you DIDN'T ship Tristipan/Evangelyne, so it's well enough that I do enjoy that ship.

YO, PLEASE TO BE STOP JERKING US AROUND AND JUST KISS EVANGELYNE YOU DUMB DUMB!

I would get fed up with him so fast you would not believe. IT IS A SHAME AS HE IS A GREAT GUY WHEN YOU GET TO KNOW HIM, I JUST WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO TAKE THAT TIME!

I like him a lot, but he's just not my favorite. SORRY FANDOM!

I'd definitely hype him a fair bit, but as you may have gathered, he wouldn't get the bulk of it.
