All in all, a good satisfying ending and more or less what I was expecting.

I was kind of expecting Edelgard and Hubert hiding who really destroyed Arianhrod to come back at some point, but then again the only ones who would be interested in spilling that secret would be the ones that our students wouldn't believe in the first place. But at the same time, it could have come back up.

Really, for all that people talked about how Edelgard was "totally fascist", the worst she did was continuing to associate with her uncle and Those-Who-Slither-In-The-Dark, which while bad is short of the impression the fandom gave me. Wow, what a shock, the fandom got it wrong for the sake of quick, cheap, and easy memes.

Ugh, I know re: Edelgard. I have no doubt she's a villain 100% in the other routes, but in Crimson Flower, she's clearly a heroic character working to dismantle the class system that destroyed her family/so many others in Fodlan. Not to mention she and Hubert hated having to work with them, and only did so bc there was no other choice, and plan to deal with them later. It's basically the same for Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire (hero in one world, villain in the other), but we live in the year of QUIRKY MEMES and heaven forbid we think critically, so. :/

(I'm on chapter 17, which I think is the last chapter? How tough was your Black Eagle fam when you took on the last fights; I'd like to know how prepared I need to be ;_;)

I fully expect that Edelgard will be much more villainous in the other routes too. Especially Dimitri's route. Dimitri meanwhile didn't come off his best in the Black Eagle route either, but nobody gets on his case for that. HMMM!

(Chapter 17 is the second-to-last chapter, but you pretty much go immediately into the chapter 18 battle after that with no monastery period in between. My Black Eagles were about levels 38-40 and I was able to complete it okay. I played on Normal mode though, so if you're doing it on Hard you may want to be a little stronger.)

Thank you! It took me a few resets and divine pulses lol, but I beat the route today. I'm very glad I had it on casual mode. ;_;

(I'm prob gonna recruit a lot of BE on my Azure Moon run and I am very tempted just to do a Ferdie/Bernie ending again)
