"People think you're too motherly?" Anzu said, looking quizzically upon her new friend.
"Yeah," Katara said with a look of disbelief. "They keep saying I'm too 'mature' for Aang, which is completely ridiculous." Then she turned away for a moment. "Aang, make sure you eat your vegetables before you eat that custard!" And then Katara returned her attention to Anzu.
"I agree; I mean, we've only just met, but you just seem like someone who's concerned about her friends." Then Anzu turned away for a moment. "Yuugi, make sure you tuck your napkin into your collar!" Then back to Katara. "I mean, if you're too motherly, then that would make me super-mom!"
The two women laughed together at the absurdity of it all, and continued to enjoy the cross-dimension party.
Meanwhile, Yugi and Aang exchanged long-suffering looks across the table. Both could hear the girls' conversation well enough, both had /plenty/ they could add in their defense, or at least in the defense of the viewpoint . . . and both knew too-well the wisdom of keeping their mouths SHUT. TT~TT
I'm glad you liked it! I mean, really, what's so wrong with a lady having motherly habits towards her man? No one complains about a dude being fatherly towards his lady after all. It's double standards is what it is!
**************************
As for Sokka and Jounouchi, they were hitting it off very well, each very surprised at both the similarities and the differences they experienced in being big brother's to their respective little sisters. They also found a common ground with regards to the plights of their "little brothers", and found that they could not do anything but their brotherly duties, of standing by and enjoying the moment. After all, they had to torment someone, and they couldn't very well torment their little sisters, now could they? For one thing, their sisters fought back way harder then they did!
Wow, that is a crack cross-over that is both full of awesome and...really challenging. I'll try, but I'm going to have to keep things simple, and not use anywhere near all the straw hats.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"So, Appa's a sea-king you fed a Flying-Flying Fruit to, right?" So said the pirate boy with the straw hat, who had just stretched his arm at least twenty times its normal length like a rubber band to grab onto Appa and leap on. Aang and the others stared down at the ship with the sunflower/lion head, looking at the very peculiar crew and the emblem of the skull & bones with a straw hat just like the rubber boy's.
"Um, actually...!" Appa just barely managed to avoid the canon balls that were being tossed by a man who looked to be in his 50's or 60's, easy. Aang then airbended a thick layer cloud to hide Appa.
"Wow, how'd you do that without calling your attack? My name's Luffy, and I'm gonna be King of the Pirates!"
Aang looked to Katara, Sokka, Toph, Zuko, and Suki, all of whom were just as confused as he was. Then, looking down below, they saw Luffy's ship suddenly leap across the water, as though propelled by a sudden burst of gas.
"Um, I'm Aang, the Avatar, and I think we should get a move on and find a safe place before that old guy kills us!"
Thanks! Challenges are good for developing my writing skills, I just wish I could have done something with Brooke; he's my favorite Straw Hat, aside from all the others of course.
And yeah, if any place is suitable for genre savvy, cross overs would be the place!
Was that incalculable fail, or did it satisfy?
Date: 2009-07-08 06:54 am (UTC)Haha, the Gaangs' confusion in the face of Luffy's cheerful atittude and randomness.
Wow, how'd you do that without calling your attack?
That was very genre savvy!
