Well, not too long ago, the summaries for episodes 98 through 100 of 5Ds were released.  Since we now have 100 episodes of 5ds to work with, I figured I'd do a little itty-bitty study; take a look at how the duels throughout all three animes were distributed.

Duel Distributions

Yugioh!
Duelist Kingdom
Yuugi: 13
Jounouchi: 7
Kaiba: 4
Mai Kujaku: 3

Interim
Yuugi: 3
Jounouchi: 2
Kaiba: 1

Battle City
Yuugi: 6
Jounouchi: 5
Kaiba: 2
Mai Kujaku: 2
Other: 2

Noa Arc
Yuugi: 3
Jounouchi: 2
Kaiba: 3
Other: 2

Battle City Finals
Yuugi: 2
Jounouchi: 2
Kaiba: 2

Doma
Yuugi: 7
Jounouchi: 4
Kaiba: 3
Mai Kujaku: 2
Other: 1

Grand Prix
Yuugi: 3
Jounouchi: 2
Kaiba: 1
Other: 3

Final Arc
Yuugi: 2
Jounouchi: 1
Kaiba: 1

Final Total
Yuugi: 40
Jounouchi: 27
Kaiba: 18
Mai Kujaku: 7
Other: 8

Thoughts: So, as we can see, Yuugi gets the plurality of duels, more than any other individual character in the series by a safe margin. However, he lacks a majority of the duels, and aside from the Duelist Kingdom arc, his lead in any given arc is slight at best. Thus, while Yuugi is plainly taking advantage of his main character status, other duelists are allowed to participate in the games.

Thoughts: Holy shit, look at that! It's not even remotely close, at all. Seriously, Judai is getting just about as many duels as the rest of the cast put together, and considering that it takes 14 or 15 duelists to match Judai in this regard, that's really saying something. Really, it makes you wonder what the point of all the other characters is, if they're just going to have Judai do everything all by himself.

Yugioh 5Ds!

Up to Fortune Cup
Yusei: 12
Jack: 3
Aki: 3
Lua: 2
Luka: 1
Other: 1

Dark Signer Arc
Yusei: 8
Jack: 3
Crow: 5
Aki: 3
Lua: 2
Luka: 1
Other: 2

Treno Trio Arc
Yusei: 13
Jack: 4
Crow: 3

Lua: 2
Luka: 1

Final Total
Yusei: 33
Jack: 10
Crow: 8
Aki: 8
Lua: 6
Luka: 3
Other: 1

Thoughts: It's pretty clear here that Yusei is following in the footsteps Judai as opposed to Yusei, at least as far as shear dueling screen time is concerned. I mean really, we just had a seven-episode miniarc where Yusei got to duel every episode, and in the very next episode, he gets to duel AGAIN! And if the spoiler summaries are to be trusted, while Jack and Aki are going to be getting to duel soon, they will both lose and it will all be up to Yusei to save the day all by himself. Again. It really makes you wonder why the writers keep doing this, since it makes everything much more tedious and repetitive than letting everyone get an equal slice of the pie. I mean, Kazuki Takahashi made this mistake in Duelist Kingdom, but he learned his lesson, so what's the new guys's problem?
