the epitaph of twilight

A young couple is out for a drive in the snow when they see a shooting star overhead. They make a wish on the star, and then the star dives down from the sky, revealing that it is no shooting star but a giant robot lion! It lands in front of the couple and opens its mouth, revealing a little baby boy, just like they wished for. They take the child and raise it as their own, naming him Mamoru, and then the Giant Robot Lion leaves. Eight years pass, and when Mamoru is on a class field trip, they are attacked by a giant robot made of garbage! Fortunately, the Giant Robot Lion arrives, and with the lion is a cyborg named Guy Shishioh. They fuse to become the fighting robot GaiGar, and then they fuse with the GaoMachines to become the invincible champion of Earth, GaoGaiGar!
