According to rottentomatoes.com, "The Last Airbender" has a freshness rating of 7%, and even the "fresh" reviews, are not very good. Meanwhile, "Eclipse" has a freshness rating of 51%. And some time back, M. Night Shyamalan said that the first "Twilight" movie was his favorite movie of that year. (See here http://blog.reelloop.com/9552/news/night-shyamalan-expresses-interest-breaking-dawn-big-fan-twilight/)

So, the question becomes, did M. Night Shyamalan deliberately go out of his way to create a racist, sexist, and all around terrible movie, in a perverse desire to make sure that "Eclipse" would be number one at the box office this weekend? It's certainly worth a moment of thought. BUT, only a moment of thought.

Even worse than that, his daughter liked Avatar because Katara looked like her. Then he goes and casts a white girl to play katara in the movie. He truly is a tool.

yeah, he kept saying this bullshit about how no Inuit girls looked like Katara, blatantly ignoring the part where Nicola Peltz, AKA white as it gets, looked even less like Katara than anyone else...seriously, what a prick, I wouldn't be surprised if his daughter ended up disowning him.

This is just me reading tea leaves, but Mike and Bryan were very quiet about the movie all this time. My take is that they've been keeping their mouth to avoid violating any non-disclosure agreement badmouthing the movie.
